Four 4s

Here’s something we do in year seven to help practise the rules of indices but it is a challenge for anybody. Can you make 1-20 using four 4s and the basic mathematical operators. There are slightly different versions of this problem out there that allow different operations. The best way to learn the rules for this version is to have a play.
